Meta-analysis of 19 RCTs (n=1,683) examining melatonin for primary sleep disorders. Melatonin significantly reduced sleep onset latency by 7.06 minutes (p<0.001), increased total sleep time by 8.25 minutes (p=0.013), and improved overall sleep quality (p<0.001) versus placebo. Higher doses and longer durations showed greater effects.
